PBLWorks
PBLWorks wanted to empower K-12 teachers with a robust, intuitive app for implementing high-quality Project-Based Learning (PBL) curriculum. Our role was to lead the UX/UI design for the PBL:Teach curriculum app, ensuring it was accessible, engaging, and easy to navigate for teachers across different subjects and grade levels. The app was designed to support teachers with fully-resourced projects and customizable units that fit diverse classroom needs.
Designing a user-centered platform for teachers and students
Intuitive and engaging design
We created a bright, engaging interface that makes it simple for teachers to access and customize project units. The design balances functionality with an inviting user experience, ensuring that both novice and veteran educators can easily navigate the app and utilize its resources to enhance their teaching.
Understanding the varied needs of K-12 teachers, we designed the app to allow educators to personalize project units, adjust timelines, and integrate materials with existing digital ecosystems like Google Classroom. This flexibility ensures that teachers can adapt the curriculum to meet the specific needs of their students.
Customizable features for diverse educational needs
Gathering insights from end users
A key part of our process was gathering feedback and insights directly from our end users: teachers. Through a series of user testing sessions, we collected valuable input that informed the design and functionality of the app. By involving educators in the development process, we ensured that the app fit seamlessly into their workflows and provided them with the tools they needed to be successful.
UX Strategy and iteration
Our UX strategy process was thorough and user-focused. Through extensive testing and iterative design, we refined the user experience, ensuring that the app was intuitive and aligned with the daily workflows of educators. This process was crucial in building a solution that truly meets the needs of K-12 teachers.
